How It Started...

From an early age Ben realised that he had a passion woodworking after watching his dad build most of the furniture at home. His talent for creating wooden furniture started at school & college where he studied Art, Design technology & Business studies. Seeking a career that would satisfy his creative nature he decided to turn his furniture making hobby into a business, Ben Simpson Furniture.

After sourcing the perfect raw materials he set about creating his range of Rustic inspired wooden furniture. Scandinavian Joinery Pine was chosen because it is a dense and stable wood, which is particularly suited to furniture making and, importantly, a sustainable and environmentally friendly material.

After a few years growing Ben Simpson Furniture from his parents Shed to Garage Ben decided to team up with Luke Kiernan a long time friend to create a partnership together & build a business.

Luke started out much the same as Ben showing a love for creative design from a young age. Luke studied Product design & Business Studies at Godalming College, this allowed him to develop his knowledge of design & product placement in the market.

Together Ben & Luke started designing their new range of Industrial shelving & furniture, the brief was to infuse rustic timber with classic ironmongery to create a new Industrial style.

It soon became apparent that this industrial style had created a rustic modern feel. By combining metalwork into the designs Ben & Luke had taken country cottage furniture and allowed it to work in a modern environment from town houses to loft apartments.

Where we are today...

After out growing "the garage" Ben Simpson Furniture took a leap into a new state of the art workshop. This allowed Ben & Luke to increase their product range as the market kept growing.

Over the next couple of years Ben took on new members to join the team. The new workshop also allowed the opportunity to invest in larger more professional machinery. With ever increasing sales Ben Simpson Furniture out grew their workshop, fortunately they were able to build an extension, expanding to a 4,000 Sq Ft workshop. They now have the capacity to manufacture 200 shelves per day.

Regardless of business growth one thing will always stay constant... To deliver premium handcrafted wooden Furniture & Shelving, while maintaining the highest levels of customer service at a fair honest price.
