Order FAQ's
Alternatively we sell a colour sample pack which includes all of our colour options.
All our furniture is made to order so the sample texture and colours can vary from the finished products. For this reason we suggest using these samples a a guide only.
All our products are handmade to order which allows us to easily cut our products to bespoke lengths to the nearest 5mm or 0.5cm.

When messaging us, please provide:

During opening hours please call our office on 01403 823 921 with your order number to hand.
If we are closed please send an email to help@bensimpsonfurniture.com requesting to cancel your order making sure you quote your order number.
This really depends on the reason you are choosing to exchange. It is best to send an email to help@bensimpsonfurniture.com and our customer service team can advise you what is best to do.
What to Do
No worries! The best way to do this is to keep the shelf and the fixings and just send us back the brackets.
If you send us an email explaining what you are going to do & make sure you fill out the return form which will be inside the fitting instructions.
Just tick the exchange box and write a note to say you which brackets you would like instead.
As soon as we receive the brackets back at our workshop we will send you your replacements out ASAP!!!
How to send them & where
We suggest using one of the courier comparison sites below, they offer great rates from multiple courier companies. This will be the cheapest way of returning your order:

Wax Colours Product Fixings Our TimberOf course we do! Every piece of furniture or shelving is handmade by us from our workshop in Rudgwick.
At the moment due to COVID-19, we cannot allow any member of the public into our workshop without an appointment.
Sustainability
Every item of furniture that we craft from our workshop is made from 100% sustainable Scandinavian joinery Pine, the highest grade of pine you can buy!
Pine is an extremely strong and versatile wood. It is used all over the world in construction to build houses. Being lightweight but incredible strong, makes it the perfect shelving material.
We only use wood from 100% sustainably managed FSC forests. Giving you the confidence you are buying a completely sustainable wooden product.
We only use the highest grade joinery pine. This allows us to manufacture a product which is consistently high quality with the knowledge that its sustainable and environmentally friendly.
All our timber comes from sustainably managed forests in areas where Four trees are planted for every one felled.
Forests that are used for wood harvesting only have a few trees taken from each section. This allows the forests native Animal Habitats to continue to thrive. It also increases sunlight into the forrest floor, encouraging the growth of new ecosystems. This patch of land won't be harvested again for 30 years.
We also have our own tree planting scheme. We are in association with ONE TREE PLANTED who are helping to re wild deforested land across the world.

Sustainability and responsibility are an integral part of everything we do at Ben Simpson Furniture.
Starting at the very beginning we only use responsibly sourced FSC certified Northern Scandinavian Pine and pack our products in 100% recyclable packaging | We always recycle or reuse waste products from our manufacturing process which include Wood Offcuts, Sawdust, Cardboard & Plastics.

The delivery day of your order will depend on what day you placed your order. We can't give an exact delivery day, however once it has left our workshop, you will receive a delivery update from either DPD or Parcelforce.
- Email or Text Message giving you details about your delivery
- A second Email or Text Message providing you with a delivery day.
- You will also receive in flight delivery options giving you a SAFE PLACE or CHANGE DELIVERY DAY, along with a DELIVERY TIME SLOT.
Once you place your order with us, you will receive an email confirming your order along with either a Parcelforce or DPD tracking number, the tracking will become available 24 hours before delivery.
All Orders placed outside of the United Kingdom will be subeject to longer lead times and a delivery charge.
The Delivery charge and lead time will be highlighted at checkout before you pay.

The return form will be inside the fitting instructions, just fill this out to ensure a speedy refund. The customer is responsible for the returns postage cost.
As soon as we receive the order back at our workshop we will issue you the full refund.

Before placing an Order
Yes we can do this not a problem, all our shelves are handmade to order, so we can make the shelves any size you need up to 200cm.
The only thing to note is there will be an oversized delivery charge of £32.50 for orders over 140cm.
If you would like us to provide you with a quote please let us know via email exactly which shelf you would like (floating, lipped metal brackets, inverted brackets or non lipped metal brackets) and the length, depth, colour and thickness you would like.

Samples & Care PacksWe would not advise to install floating shelves on plasterboard walls. Our floating rods will not be able to fully support the shelf in plasterboard walls as the fixings do not adequately spread the load of the shelf across the wall.
Our metal brackets can be used on plasterboard walls, however we don’t supply plasterboard wall plugs.
If fixing to plasterboard, you will need to purchase different wall plugs. Unfortunately we are unable to advise on the correct plasterboard fixings, as every wall can vary. We suggest speaking to a member of staff at your local DIY store for examples of plasterboard fixings that would be suitable for your project.
The amount of weight you are able to load on the shelf will be less than advertised for solid walls and will depend on the wall fixings you purchase, so it’s worth asking the member of staff this information also.
Our floating shelves have a maximum depth of 22cm. This is the largest size we are able to produce from a single plank.
If you want a 30cm depth, we do have our metal bracket shelves. These brackets are able to hold two separate planks make up the 30cm depth.
